Develop confidence teaching school gymnastics

A British Gymnastics-affiliated course taught by an Olympic gymnastics coach. Each teacher attending the course will receive a British Gymnastics resource pack and certificate.

This course is suitable for primary and secondary school teachers, as well as student teachers. It provides practical experience across a broad range of gymnastics disciplines and teaching techniques.


No previous experience required

The course is 100% practical and no prior gymnastics knowledge or experience is required.

The course introduces practical gymnastics skills, safe support techniques and methods for linking individual movements into structured sequences.

  • Body management
  • Basic floor skills, including headstands, handstands, rolls and cartwheels
  • Flight and rebound techniques, including basic vaulting
  • Acrobatic gymnastics, including partner and group balances
  • Rhythmic gymnastics using ribbons, hula hoops and balls
  • General principles of practical support
  • Creating sequences by linking individual skills together
